Apricots

Oil on Canvas 11"x11"
I didn't compose this piece, it's just how the apricots were piled. I was attracted by the soft light coming into the kitchen from the south facing window. The extreme forshortening, the soft light, and the simplicity of the design made this a challenging piece. Currently, it is in the Greenwich Workshop Small Works exhibition 2008, a great annual venue put on by the gallery.

Beautiful light on the fruit, very soft, and glowing apricot colors against the green - nice!

Both my daughters liked this painting. They both live in different states and didn't know that they each picked out the same one. They saw in in the Greenwich Small Works Exhibition. Nice. (mine was in that show too.) shannonsportfolio.com
