My paintings are inspired by the way natural light reveals the shape, colour and texture of each subject. Realist painting is as much about the role imagination plays in perception as it is about the careful scrutiny and depiction of "reality." We all conceive and construct what we think is real. It's the individual interpretation that makes realist painting so fascinating.

John, I love how the egg shells and orange peelings add that little bit of spice without taking over the painting. Love this.
