Oil on Canvas 10"x10" This is part of a series of small canvases. Even though this is a small piece, it took about three days, the details in the tissue and on the fruit is complex.
My paintings are inspired by the way natural light reveals the shape, colour and texture of each subject. Realist painting is as much about the role imagination plays in perception as it is about the careful scrutiny and depiction of "reality." We all conceive and construct what we think is real. It's the individual interpretation that makes realist painting so fascinating.
